What is Green Hulu Kapuas Kratom?
Green Hulu is a “Green-veined” strain of kratom that is both balanced and potent. Although more difficult to get your hands on, those who have experienced it often say everyone should try it at least once.
Although all kratom comes from the same parent plant, the Mitragyna Speciosa, Green Hulu is unique in its alkaloid content, concentration, effects, its method of cultivation, processing and more.
Where Does Green Hulu Kapuas Come From?
This strain of kratom comes from Borneo, the third-largest island nation in the world, and the largest island nation in all of Asia.
This large rugged island of Borneo is one of the last corners of the world left largely untouched by civilization, known for lush tropical ecosystems, Hulu Forrest, and the Kapuas River. It is along this river’s banks where the famed Mitragyna speciosa tree grows.
Mitragyna speciosa evergreens grown along the river are carefully cared for and cultivated by local farmers whose families have centuries of experience working with this majestic tree. At just the right moment of maturity, the leaves of the trees are hand-selected and picked.
It is from these leaves that Green Hulu Kapuas comes from.
What Makes Hulu Kratom a Rare Strain?
Although other strains of Hulu Kratom exist independently (such as Red or White Hulu), the “Green Hulu Kapuas” is a special breed. Grown along the secluded and isolated riverbanks of the Kapuas River, this kratom comes from where the Hulu Forrest meets the river’s murky waters.
Its relative difficulty of access makes it hard to grow, care for, and process, leading to a very limited supply. Adding to it’s allure, is that Hulu kratom powder is made only from the most mature leaves with visually green veins.
Combined with a seasonal growth pattern, the trees from which Hulu Kratom is made are both scarce and demanding.
How is Green Hulu Kapuas Made?
It all starts along the muddied banks of the Kapuas river, where the mighty and revered Mitragyna Speciosa grows. These trees are carefully looked after, using knowledge passed down throughout the generations by families of local farmers.
Only when the leaves reach between 5-8 years of maturity are they ready for selection. At this time each leaf is carefully inspected for size, composition, health, and most importantly, the color of its stem and veins. When ready, the veins and stems of these leaves will be green, giving the Hulu Kapuas its “Green” nomenclature (name).
After careful selection, each leaf is hand-picked and taken to a local shelter where they are spread out flat where they dry under careful observation and climate control. This process ensures they can be removed for further processing at the precise moment they have achieved the optimal alkaloid concentrations.
The dried leaves are then crushed and ground into a fluffy and consistent powder that can be used in a wide range of kratom products and applications, including but not limited to kratom capsules, raw kratom powder, topical solutions and more.
What Does Green Hulu Kapuas Taste Like?
Fresh Hulu Kapuas Kratom has a brisk aroma reminiscent of botanicals and earthy notes. The taste is similar to that of other kratom strains you may have experienced. Green Hulu Kratom has been described as tasting ‘herbal’, ‘grassy’ and ‘leafy’. Of note is kratom’s notorious bitterness which some find off-putting. This can be easily masked in sweet foods, blended drinks, or by taking it in tasteless capsules.
What is the Alkaloid Content of the Hulu Kapuas Strain?

The smooth texture of the powder makes it easy to mix into things. It dissolves fairly well, just wish the taste was not so bitter.

Green Hulu is the bee’s knee’s and I would recommend it to anyone looking for relief. Powder is better than capsules in my opinion just because it digests quicker. Be careful of the taste, might get you the first time haha.

Nice strain. Similar burn to green borneo but more soothing and relaxing, not as energizing.
