This bill came after HB073 died in the judiciary committee and Senate Bill 1183 (SB1183) failed to pass the appropriations committee, both in March of 2016. HB183, like the previous legislation, addresses the nature of Mitragynine & 7-Hydroxymitragynine, to decide whether the alkaloids in kratom should be added to the state’s list of controlled substances. HB183 was “Indefinitely postponed and withdrawn from consideration” on May 5, 2017, and officially recorded as “died in Criminal Justice subcommittee” on October 1, 2017.
